EMDR, Somatic, and Trauma Therapy

Break free from what’s holding you back

“Trauma is the invisible force that shapes our lives. It shapes the way we live, the way we love and the way we make sense of the world. It is the root of our deepest wounds.” Gabor Mate

Past memories and images have a profound effect on the way you live your life. And you still feel their sting as if those events just happened yesterday.

And that could be a result of a traumatic experience that keeps pulling you back into your past.

Logically, you can understand why you feel anxious, stressed-out, and worried. And you try to convince yourself that you’re “over it.”

Yet your body is telling you something different. Maybe you’re experiencing nightmares, panic attacks, jumpiness. Or it can feel like an invisible force field is preventing you from moving forward or working through a creative block.

Time to do something different

Your body holds the wisdom to heal. We hold space for you to slow down and genuinely connect with what’s going on inside.

Trauma can include attachment trauma, leading to an avoidant, insecure, or disorganized attachment style; single-incident trauma such as a motor vehicle accident, medical trauma, or a victim of a crime; and complex trauma as a result of ongoing physical, emotional, sexual abuse occurring during the developmental years of childhood or as an adult.

Our clinicians are trained in EMDR and Somatic Therapies to help you heal from the obstacles that are holding you back. We understand that trauma arises from our witnessing or being a part of a disturbing or distressing circumstance, leaving us feeling helpless, confused, and untethered.

You’ll notice energizing shifts as you work through those old belief systems and replace them with ones that feel right to you.

You’ll make smarter choices, reconnect with lost passions, and feel more joyful in your life.

How EMDR works

EMDR techniques are used to unblock emotional processes that have been stagnated by distress.

By unblocking your negative emotional cycles, you can (in a sense) reprogram your brain. You will gain insight into your negative belief system and heal from the fear and pain associated with the trauma and emotional distress you have experienced.

EMDR can also allow you to gain a new perspective, which can facilitate improved self-esteem and enhance your personal beliefs about your capabilities. (American Psychological Association)

As EMDR and Somatic Clinicians we have helped clients heal from sexual trauma, relationship issues, anxiety, panic attacks, creative blocks, developmental trauma, and self-esteem issues.
